Horizontal Wall Art

Long Horizontal Wall Art

A long, wide print fills horizontal spaces in a way other formats can’t. Above a sofa it anchors the seating area. Above a bed it draws the wall together. Along a console or sideboard it ties the furniture to the room without crowding it. The horizontal format works because most rooms have more width than height.

Sizes range from compact wide prints to large-format canvases over 50 inches ideal for long hallways. Use our size guide to see each piece to scale before you order.

Coastal, Landscape, and Nature Subjects

Our horizontal wall art pieces feature a wide range of subjects. Pieces such as Serene Beach, Coastal Cliffs, and Morning at Cannon Beach are ideal for living rooms and large hallways. Landscape pieces like Rising Stillness, Still Riverbank, Country Villa, and Lonely Boat feature mist, still water, and open skies which add warmth and depth.

Abstract Horizontal Canvas Prints

Abstract horizontal art prints which include the Blue Mist Horizon, Desert Quietude, Indigo Passage, and Dusk Ridge use the wide format to let colour and atmosphere do the work. Sandy Hues Abstract and Tranquil Shifts come in near-white compositions with subtle tonal movement that sit easily in minimal or neutral interiors.

FAQ

What size horizontal wall art works above a sofa?

Aim for a canvas that covers 60–75% of the wall width above your sofa. For most sofas that’s between 40 and 60 inches wide.

What is the best horizontal wall art for above a bed?

A horizontal canvas between 40 and 60 inches wide works well above most beds. It should sit roughly two-thirds the width of the bed frame.

Is horizontal wall art or vertical wall art better for a bedroom?

Horizontal wall art suits most bedrooms because it aligns with the width of a bed frame and headboard. Landscape orientation art placed above the bed draws the eye across the wall rather than up, which tends to feel more restful in a sleep space.

What rooms suit horizontal wall art?

Horizontal prints work well in living rooms above sofas, bedrooms above beds, dining rooms, and hallways with wide walls. The wide format suits any space where there’s more horizontal room than vertical — which covers most of the walls in a home where art typically goes.

What framing options are available?

Every piece is available as a stretched canvas or with a floating frame in oak, walnut, black, or gold. Both options arrive fully assembled and ready to hang.
